On April 10, 1912, the unsinkable RMS Titanic embarked on her maiden voyage from England to the United States. Some of the passengers on that luxurious ocean liner were wealthy people who enjoyed exclusive amenities. Others, with the barest necessities, had booked passage in steerage. In the two hours and forty minutes it took the ocean liner to sink, it did not matter if a passenger were wealthy, intellectual, poor, or ignorant. At the conclusion of the ill-fated voyage, the passengers were divided into only two groups-the saved and the lost.

When the ship of life is sinking, all people will face eternity as either saved or lost. Neither money accumulated or good deeds accomplished will make a difference in those final moments. What exactly does it take for a person to be saved eternally? What is God’s definition of this touchstone word?
